出生于1992年的Gabrielle Aplin在2013年翻唱了Frankie Goes to Hollywood的这支经典单曲《The Power Of Love》，并收录于专辑《English Rain》。
翻唱这首歌时，Gabrielle Aplin曾坦言：她担心会引来仇恨，因为人们都很喜欢原唱。结果Aplin用事实证明这完全是不必要的顾虑，Aplin被英国MTV台选为『2013年十大新人』的全英创作女歌手，专辑《English Rain》在澳大利亚获得白金认证。
说实话，Aplin的声音让我想起另外一个女歌手：Jasmine Thompson，曾经翻唱过Passenger的《Let Her Go》，她们两者都擅长于用空灵超脱的声音颠覆原版的编曲，并创作出独属于自己的特色。
